The depth of the CRT monitor and keyboard width have made it
virtually impossible for designers to reduce the size of the work station
footprint without sacrificing storage or leg space. That is, without
Pelican drawers, By turning wasted space under the desk into
functional storage space with Pelican drawers, we can eliminate the need for
pedestals. In so doing, SpaceCo is able to reduce the workstation
foot print size by 1 ft, in each direction or by 13 square feet, while increasing
leg space. By serving as visitor seating as well providing storage, the MoPed convertible top,
box and file drawer mobile pedestal is an excellent solution for limited space work stations.
Just as the extensive depth of the CRT computer monitor prompted the development of the
"corner top" and giant work station footprint, the low profile of the LCD flat screen monitor eliminates the
need for the "corner top"; the last obstacle to designing a more compact and efficient workstation. Having a flat
screen monitor or laptop on a SpaceArm frees upadditional desk space.
